Meet Dr. Allyson

Dr. Allyson Varn Monferdini, a 1995 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School and a 1999 graduate of Wofford College, returned to her hometown to practice dentistry with her dad. After graduating from the MUSC School of Dentistry in 2003, she completed a general practice residency in Charleston before joining Wateree Family Dentistry in 2004. Allyson and her husband, Rad, are happy to live so close to family, especially for their two boys. Her faith and her family are of the utmost importance in her life. Allyson loves sports, especially college football and basketball. Go Gamecocks! She enjoys reading and will welcome any book suggestions, loves to travel, and likes to try out new recipes whenever she gets the chance.

Allyson believes continuing education to be very important to staying at the cutting edge of what dentistry has to offer. She is committed to learning the latest techniques to provide the best possible care for her patients. She and her dad completed their continuum study together at the world-renowned Pankey Institute in 2007 and then began further studies with Spear. She loves the opportunity to mentor and learn along side other dental professionals in their educational journey.

Allyson is also a member of the South Carolina Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. She is a member of the Sandhill Spear Study Club and values the time learning from and with her colleagues. She has been on numerous dental mission trips to Venezuela, Ecuador, and Honduras and is hoping her next trip will involve her family. She is a past member of the Camden Junior League, an active member of the Camden Rotary Club and also serves with the Community Medical Clinic. Allyson is so happy to have the opportunity to serve our community, working in the beginning with her dad and now with Dr. Corey Wilson. She is excited about the future of Wateree Family Dentistry.
